About BRAVAS At BRAVAS, we transform homes into extraordinary living experiences. As the nation’s #1 luxury technology integrator, we design and deliver premium solutions - lighting, shades, A/V, networking, home automation, and more, that make life effortless, beautiful, and connected. We partner with homeowners, architects, builders, and designers on some of the most spectacular homes in the country. And we’re growing.
The Role We're looking for a strategic, hands-on Director of IT to build and lead the technology function that powers Bravas's distributed, multi-location workforce. This is a fully remote, high-impact leadership role - you'll set the vision and roadmap for our IT infrastructure, security posture, and internal systems, while staying close enough to the details to execute when needed. You'll partner directly with executive leadership and cross-functionally with Operations, People & Culture, Finance, and field teams across all branch locations, translating business priorities into scalable technology decisions. This role is a strong fit for someone who has run IT as a function - not just a queue - and is excited to build that function from the ground up as Bravas grows.
What You'll Do
Own the IT strategy and roadmap for a remote-first, multi-location organization, aligning technology investments with business growth and operational priorities
Build, lead, and continuously improve IT operations end-to-end: device and user lifecycle management, onboarding/offboarding, and access governance
Set direction for core business systems administration - Microsoft 365 (or Google Workspace), cloud platforms, VPNs, and internal SaaS tools - and evaluate new tools as the company scales
Own identity and access strategy across all systems (Active Directory / Azure AD, SSO, MFA, role-based permissions), ensuring security and compliance keep pace with headcount growth
Define and drive the company's cybersecurity posture: endpoint protection, patch management, vulnerability management, and incident response planning
Establish IT governance - policies, documentation, and standard operating procedures - that scale with the organization and hold up to audit or compliance scrutiny
Own vendor and licensing strategy, negotiating contracts and managing budget to ensure cost-effectiveness across a growing tool stack
Serve as the executive-level point of contact for IT, communicating risk, priorities, and tradeoffs to non-technical leadership in clear, business-relevant terms
Lead infrastructure initiatives from concept to completion, including network improvements, system migrations, and major tool rollouts
Build the case for and manage any future IT hires or contractors as the function grows
What You Bring
7+ years of progressive IT experience, including time owning IT strategy or leading an IT function - preferably in a distributed or multi-location environment
Proven ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels - comfortable setting direction and stepping in to execute
Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 administration, Azure AD / Entra ID, and MDM solutions (Intune, Jamf, or similar)
Experience owning ERP or CRM platform strategy (NetSuite experience is a strong plus)
Strong grasp of network architecture: DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, and cloud networking
Track record of building or maturing a cybersecurity program: endpoint security, patch management, and security best practices
Excellent documentation and governance habits - you build systems, not just tickets
Executive-level communication skills; able to translate technical risk and tradeoffs into plain language for leadership and non-technical stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to manage budget, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations
Self-directed and highly organized, with experience leading initiatives across multiple teams, functions, or time zones
Nice to Have
Familiarity with construction, trades, or field-service industries
Experience with project management platforms like Basecamp or Monday.com
Exposure to AV/smart home technology ecosystems (Control4, Lutron, Crestron, etc.)
CompTIA Security+, Microsoft certifications, or similar credentials
